I bought my copy from an on-line music store a number of years ago.

In the 1995 3-CD individual collections that Warner Brothers issued they included several songs from that 1978 album and in the CD credits the compiler said the material was "previously unreleased" as if the songs had never been available before but yet they appeared on the 1978 album.

Oh, I could transcribe the commentary notes from the album...it's just a matter of getting around to doing it. I'll more than likely do this at some point this week. Not only is there commentary written on the front of the album telling the album buyers and fans alike why he recorded an R&B covers album but there's all the commentary on the back of the album under each and every song.

There's eight songs...but three of them are medley's which include three short songs a piece and that adds up to nine additional commentaries...so I'll get around to it.ACcountryFanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14445878735424575807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3213029481684687385.post-64757740104484419182010-09-20T09:03:32.398-04:002010-09-20T09:03:32.398-04:00Also, is there any way you could transcribe Ray...Also, is there any way you could transcribe Ray's commentary notes on the LP?Ryannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3213029481684687385.post-86150013517049223962010-09-20T09:02:28.968-04:002010-09-20T09:02:28.968-04:00I was never conviced There is Something on Your Mi...I was never conviced There is Something on Your Mind actually existed. It's the only Ray Stevens LP I never ever ever saw in stores. I tried to special order it and was told it was not available. Perhaps it was "Banned in Texas"?Ryannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3213029481684687385.post-89620642809032579452010-09-18T08:03:21.457-04:002010-09-18T08:03:21.457-04:00Although Obama is the President that in no way mea...Although Obama is the President that in no way means that you, I, or even Ray Stevens has to respect the direction Obama wants to take the country. A person can respect the office of the President without agreeing with who holds that office if that makes any sense? In politics you don't get fair treatment...recall all of the terrible remarks and rude comments thrown George Bush's way. There are some who still want to blame him for everything that's happened while Obama's been in office.

Now, let's be fair to Ray...he's issued several politically charged music videos on You Tube over the course of the last 8 or 9 months so those who attend his concerts oughta know what to expect. His latest album is called WE THE PEOPLE named after his Anti-ObamaCare song, "We The People". The collection is filled with political and patriotic material. You sound as if you're in the minority and didn't know of Ray's political songs but they're on You Tube for the world to see.

"We The People" has over 3 million views; "Come to the USA" has nearly 4 million views. "Throw the Bums Out!", "Caribou Barbie", and "The Global Warming Song" are some other political music videos he's released on You Tube. So, for those who follow Ray's career, the political overtone is something we're familiar with.ACcountryFanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14445878735424575807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3213029481684687385.post-21911022158015028572010-09-18T00:13:17.991-04:002010-09-18T00:13:17.991-04:00I just returned from the reopening of Ray Stevens ...I just returned from the reopening of Ray Stevens part 10. I probably won't get published, but I have to say I was really disappointed that a whole hearted American could include remarks that degraded the President of the USA. No matter your political leanings - Obama is our president and deserves the respect of the American people. Ray Stevens was my first choice of shows to see on our recent trip to Vegas and by the end of the 1st half, I was ready to leave. I'm glad I did not leave - the 2nd half was what I expected. Real entertainment in a neutral setting that did not contain a political message. Thank you for letting me express my opinion.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
