Ray Stevens: Upcoming August CabaRay concerts...

It's me once again!! We're here on the final day of July and that means another month of concerts at the Ray Stevens CabaRay showroom has concluded. The last show of the month took place yesterday evening. An online friend of mine attended the concert last night and she shared some photos of her time there. I took notice of some additional trophies in Ray's display case that weren't there back in 2018 when I attended a concert there. The most notable addition is his replica Country Music Hall of Fame plaque, identical to the one that hangs inside the Country Music Hall of Fame building in downtown Nashville. Ray also has his golden medallion on display. These medallions are worn each successive year by members of the Country Music Hall of Fame when they attend each successive election ceremony. As the ceremony in Cooperstown, New York at the National Baseball Hall of Fame features Hall of Fame members in attendance to welcome in the newest inductee's the same thing happens in Nashville during the Country Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony. Now, as far as the CabaRay concerts go, Ray is going to appear 5 times during the month of August: 6th, 13th, 18th, 20th, and 27th. As you can see there's a 5th concert next month...indicating a Thursday night concert on August 18th. Now, keep in mind, you can also visit the CabaRay on Friday evenings. Ray won't be there but his piano bar is open and the pianist, John Jonethis, will be there for several hours. On the day of concerts John Jonethis plays in the piano bar before and after Ray's concerts and during the intermission period. The goal is to keep the experience up-beat and music heavy...so, no matter where you are within the CabaRay, you're going to hear John's piano playing and his banter whether you're literally inside the piano bar or not. Those interested in attending a concert can click this LINK

Meanwhile, have you purchased your 4-CD Iconic Songs of the 20th Century box set? It's been available for a little more than a year. It's a box set of 4 individual Ray Stevens albums: Great Country Ballads, Melancholy Fescue, Slow Dance, and Nouveau Retro. They're all great...chock full of non-comical Ray Stevens recordings.

Those certain fans that often say that they prefer the 'serious' songs of Ray Stevens much more than the comical ones, well, this 4-CD box set is an answer to your wishes. A fan such as myself I appreciate everything Ray Stevens has recorded but I've read a lot of internet commentary over the years and there's always those that point out that the serious songs are their preference. If you didn't know this 4-CD was available, now you do, and here's the product page to order it. If you want to purchase each individual album and not the entire 4-CD box set you can visit Amazon or other online music sites and search for each album individually. That's why I listed the name of each CD individually. They're also on streaming music sites, too. As I pointed out in a couple of blogs recently Ray Stevens has an online presence. You can find his music just as easily online as you can other recording artists, too. There's this mentality out there from some people, and I've seen it on some of the social media sites, and it's this mentality that Ray's music isn't readily available for "download" or "streaming" but yet it most certainly is available on contemporary music formats. In other words, Ray's music isn't restricted to vinyl or cassette tape as some people, believe it or not, think it is. I know it sounds like an insurmountable task but one of my recent goals is to educate people into realizing that Ray's music is also available for their I-phones and other listening devices, etc.

When you visit the CabaRay showroom there's a gift shop...and you can purchase the 4-CD box set and I also think each CD is available to purchase individually as well. There's several new items available, too. As a reminder, Ray Stevens will be in concert at the CabaRay five times during the month of August!! Don't forget to scroll up above the photo and click the link for specifics.

Ray Stevens: The CabaRay October Concerts...

Hello once more!! The CabaRay has it's grand re-opening next Thursday October 1st. I don't know if other venues are re-opening with limited audience or not...but Ray Stevens will have the CabaRay opened starting next Thursday. I visited the webpage for the showroom and looked at the October calendar to see if it had been updated to reflect the entire month and it has. Ray Stevens concerts will take place throughout the months of October, November, and December. The bulk of the concerts will take place on Thursday and Saturday nights. When the calendar flips to November there won't be a concert on November 26th because of it being Thanksgiving. However, there will be a concert the next night and another Saturday night to wrap up the month of November. Those of you familiar with CabaRay concerts from 2018 and 2019 you'll know the month of December is Christmas season at the showroom. The season will more than likely kick off the Friday following Thanksgiving on November 27th. Although New Year's Eve is on a Thursday night this year (December 31st), as of this writing, there isn't a concert scheduled on New Year's Eve.

As you can see, I copied and pasted the CabaRay concert schedule for the month of October. In blog's past I'd type the concert dates but I decided to just copy and paste the actual calendar. So, next Thursday, October 1st is the grand re-opening of the CabaRay. There's been a series of changes that have been implemented due to COVID-19 not only in audience seating (6 feet apart) but also in how fans and the general public can purchase tickets. As of this writing tickets can only be purchased over the phone. They're not taking or processing on-line ticket orders. That being said when you click this LINK you'll see more information about the CabaRay and you'll see their telephone number. I know some people don't like to click links and if you're one of them I'll provide the CabaRay phone number here: 1-615-327-4630. All of the Ray Stevens fans that are able to go I'd encourage you to attend and get the grand re-opening of the CabaRay off to a grand start. Now, it's important to point out, there's limited seating due to the pandemic. Health regulations mandate up to 125 people can attend an indoor concert. So, those of you who are wanting to get out and see the Ray Stevens show at the CabaRay, call that number and check on ticket availability.

Ray Stevens: CabaRay Re-Opens October 1st...

Well, hello there once again!! I'd previously written several blog entries about the CabaRay showroom possibly re-opening on October 1st. It's now become even more official...Ray has uploaded a video clip promoting the October re-opening...and within the video clip he mentions that there will be a concert every Thursday and Saturday night beginning October 1st and running through the rest of the year. His Facebook page features a new banner promoting the CabaRay re-opening and this is the promo video uploaded earlier today...

As you'll be able to see when you watch the video clip Ray is way beyond excited that the CabaRay will be re-open. This was a long hiatus...half a year...and finally it's been given the green light to re-open. The showroom opened in January of 2018. This is the showroom's third season, interrupted for half a year due to COVID-19, and there were only one or two concerts performed at the CabaRay in the early spring this year before things shut down. The video clip will tell you all you need to know about tickets and what's been done to meet the health department standards in the COVID-19 era.

I was looking through his social media pages and there's a lot of happy fans who've left comments on his Facebook page stating they can't wait to visit the CabaRay again or they can't wait for it to re-open and some have mentioned that they'll be attending concerts there some time in November. The showroom is a hit with his audience and in early spring it was like the rug was pulled out from underneath normalcy all over the country so you can certainly understand the excitement from the fans and from Ray himself that the CabaRay is re-opening.
