Ray Stevens: 2019 Charity Golf Classic Is underway...

Hello all...for those that attended the charitable events that took place yesterday (October 13th) at the CabaRay then you're all aware that the second half of Ray's annual charity event will take place a week from today on October 21st. Yesterday marked the first half of the Ray Stevens Charity Golf Classic...it took place at the CabaRay showroom. Things got underway at 5pm with a 2 hour silent auction. This was followed by a half hour live auction. The evening of events concluded with a 90 minute concert from Ray at the showroom. Yesterday evening live footage was uploaded onto his Facebook page of the first 6 minutes of the concert. He performed a version of "C.C. Rider"...and then went on to explain how this concert was originally scheduled to take place the following Sunday but a conflict got in the way: his formal induction on October 20th into the Country Music Hall of Fame...which drew applause from the audience. I posted a blog entry early in September promoting the upcoming charity golf event...it's among the various blog entries I posted surrounding Ray's upcoming Hall of Fame induction.

Next Monday the golf game will take place at the Temple Hills Country Club in Franklin, Tennessee. The pre-game activities get underway at 9am (checking in, practicing, etc.). The National Anthem is scheduled to be performed at 11:45am and the game itself will begin at 12noon. All of the information surrounding the event can be found HERE. The site features a disclaimer that registration for the event has closed...considering it takes place a week from today...but you can still donate to the charitable causes by clicking the red Donate button in the link provided. There's a number to call for the golf tournament itself and there's a number for the Temple Hills facility. There's also a number to reach a person with questions about the CabaRay but since the first half of the charity event took place yesterday evening and it has since ended you're more than likely going to place a call with one of the other two numbers provided. The charities include Augie's Quest (ALS), ClubCorp Employee Partners Care Foundation, and Shriner's Hospitals for Children.

Ray Stevens: 2019 Charity Golf Classic

Hello once again!! One can never be too early to advertise an upcoming event taking place. The Fourth Annual Ray Stevens Charity Golf Classic is set to take place next month. This event raises money for several causes and part of the event takes place at the Temple Hills Country Club in Franklin, Tennessee. The golf event started in 2016 and this marks the fourth consecutive year. In previous years the event was scheduled on back to back days but this year it'll be scheduled during two non-consecutive days: October 13th and October 21st.

The activity scheduled to take place on October 13th will take place at Ray's CabaRay showroom at 5724 River Road. There will be a silent auction followed by a live auction. The two events will wrap up by 7:30pm. A concert performance from Ray inside the CabaRay beginning at 7:30pm is scheduled to last 90 minutes.

On October 21st the activities of the charity event will take place at the country club in Franklin, Tennessee and those will begin at 9am. The golf tournament will get underway at 12pm. The official webpage detailing even more information can be found HERE. The money raised is donated to several causes. Once you click the link you'll see the charitable organizations the golf event donates their money to.

Ray Stevens 2018 Charity Golf Classic...

Hello one and all!! As most of you may know there's been an on-line silent auction that's been going on for several weeks in conjunction with the Ray Stevens Charity Golf Classic as a kind of build up to the actual golf event set to take place tomorrow (October 22nd). I provided a link to the on-line silent auction a couple of blogs ago in an entry with a similar blog title. That blog entry is titled Ray Stevens Charity Golf Classic 2018 but as you can see I slightly altered that blog entry title for the blog entry you're reading at the moment. The schedule of events for today (October 21st) begin at 5pm Central time at Ray's CabaRay performance venue in West Nashville. There will be an in-person silent auction at the CabaRay from 5pm to 7pm and this will be followed by a traditional auction (with an auctioneer, I imagine) from 7pm to 7:30pm. Following this auction there will be a Ray Stevens concert at the CabaRay which will kick-off at 7:30pm and run 90 minutes. All of this is according to an on-line schedule of events posted at the Temple Hills Country Club website which you can access by clicking HERE. The times listed are obviously approximations because I'd imagine it would be difficult to stick to a strict time-line of events because of the very  nature of it all happening live...but then again Ray is probably the only person that could pull off a live event of this magnitude {a silent auction, a traditional auction, AND a concert performance} and keep it on schedule to the last millisecond.

The action at the Temple Hills Country Club gets underway bright and early Monday morning at 9am...as participants check in and start their practicing and warm-up. This takes place during a 2 hour window which is followed by a 45 minute lunch break. At approximately 11:45am what amounts to a pre-game ceremony gets underway with golf cart staging, information discussed or event announcements delivered, as well as the playing of the National Anthem. This will happen during a 15 minute window and then at Noon the game itself will commence. After the charity tournament there will be the usual after-game festivities inside the clubhouse.

The golf game itself, as mentioned, will begin tomorrow and it'll take place in Franklin, Tennessee whereas the events today will take place at the CabaRay in Bellevue which is almost always referred to as West Nashville in marketing and publicity. The locale of the CabaRay is 5724 River Road and it's main access is Charlotte Pike which itself is accessed via I-40. Naturally those directions are for tourists...the locals may have their own directions in arriving at the same destination.

Even today there may be some that think the CabaRay is in downtown Nashville or within a few blocks from other tourist attractions but in reality it's in the Bellevue, Tennessee neighborhood which is grouped into a regional area referred to as West Nashville with Bellevue being roughly 13 miles southwest of Nashville...but the neighborhood is included within Nashville's jurisdiction and a result the venue has a Nashville street address and politically the neighborhood is governed by Nashville. Once again here's the information about the Ray Stevens Charity Golf Classic.
