Ray Stevens: Obama Nation, Part 21...

Well, good Friday afternoon Ray Stevens fans!! Tomorrow night Ray will be appearing at the Opry as I mentioned in a previous blog. I did a little more research and found out that he'll be appearing during the 7:30pm-8pm segment and again during the 10:30pm-11pm segment, Central time. In the East that means you'll have to tune into WSM radio's streaming audio at 8:30pm and 11:30pm. Central time is always an hour behind the East.

On October 13th Ray will be at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort and Casino in Mescalero, New Mexico. On October 15th Ray will begin his 6-concert run at The Andy Williams Theater in Branson, Missouri. Andy passed away just recently but according to everything I've read the shows are still going to take place. This series of concerts was planned long in advance.

"Obama Nation", the current Ray Stevens video, has 634,310 unique views. The previous one, "Mr. President - Mr. President", has crossed the 700,000 mark and currently sits with 700,200 unique views.

As of this writing there are probably millions of liberals lapping up the unemployment numbers released this morning. I was watching Fox Business Network this morning when the news broke that the unemployment number had dropped under 8 percent for the first time since January 2009. Now, in my opinion, isn't it a coincidence that the media is running with secondary, unreliable poll data two days after the President took a beating in the first Presidential debate. At any other time throughout his Presidency the media has always emphasized more reliable unemployment data collection methods but now, all of the sudden, they're cherry picking which set of numbers make it look like a positive for Obama. This, in my opinion, stems from the fact that they couldn't find anything to cheer about during his debate performance and so now they're crafting a story and twisting the facts.

Where are the verifiable facts to show that all these jobs were created or that so many people joined the work force? As many of the analysts remarked this morning the drop in unemployment doesn't follow a trend or a pattern during the last 3 and a half years. They referred to an unreliable system where people, at random, are called up and asked if they've got a job and according to what the analysts were saying that's all the callers want to know. I'm assuming there's no details given from the callers whether or not those with a job are self-employed or do odd jobs for money under the table rather than an actual paycheck where taxes are taken out.

Specifics are lacking which is always cause for skepticism.

I'm quite certain, as I mentioned earlier, that the Obama sycophants are going to declare that the President's policies have been working all along but it simply isn't true. Remember all the nasty remarks and insults thrown Bush's way because the unemployment rate was so high? The news reports this morning fawned all over the unveiled unemployment figure being similar to the number in January 2009 (as if that's a success) but yet throughout 2008's election cycle all we heard was Obama and the other liberals whining and crying over similarly high unemployment numbers. Now, isn't this funny that the unemployment rate today slips to just under 8 percent and everybody's suppose to get in line and shake the President's hand...it's ironic to say the least.

The collective media are giving Obama praise for similar numbers that they were vilifying Bush for in 2008! Can anyone else see the irony and the hypocrisy?

The bottom line is this jobs news isn't a boost for Obama but obviously that's just what the mainstream media want people to believe. The media as a whole will make it appear as if Obama's on top of the world with re-election victory in sight but that's just another example of playing the voter discouragement card as they often do in every election cycle. Their mission, when they play this kind of game, in my opinion, is to hopefully discourage the more passive GOP supporters from showing up and voting.

Given that the unemployment number dropped a few percentage points does that mean you're suppose to turn a blind eye and ignore what Obama is all about fundamentally? Are you suppose to jump for joy and shout hallelujah due to some rare good job numbers report and forget the liberty-stripping policies that this President champions and endorses? Are you suppose to just forget how divisive and controlling he truly is all because of a rosy unemployment number? Good jobs news doesn't change who Obama is or change his destructive ideology.

He's still a terrible President, in my opinion, whether you're employed or not.
