Ray Stevens: We're nearing CabaRay's kick-off...

Hello all you fans of Ray Stevens!! We're getting close to the kick-off of the 2022 CabaRay season of concerts. Tickets are on sale now for all concerts...the first concert of the 2022 season is scheduled for next Saturday, March 19th. A couple of blog entries ago I mentioned the months of the year that'll feature more concerts. As in the past, as the concert season gets underway, Ray adds more concert dates. For example, late next month he'll add Thursday night concerts to his schedule and from that point onward Ray will be performing concerts on Thursday and Saturday nights. A lot of the ingredients that went into making a fun experience at the CabaRay from previous seasons has carried over this season as well. There's the attraction of the Piano Bar before and after Ray's concert. The pianist inside the piano bar is John Jonethis. There's also the dinner option...it remains optional as a carry over from the previous seasons. In the first season of concerts in 2018 the dinner automatically came with the concert but since then it's been an option. Ray will no doubt be performing songs from his 2021 4-CD box set, Iconic Songs of the 20th Century, from time to time...and I'd imagine he'll sing a song or two from his current album, Ain't Nothin' Funny Anymore. He debuted a new song recently called "Where Are All The Twelve Year Olds?" on Mike Huckabee's television show. His performance was uploaded onto YouTube. That particular video upload has gotten over 6,700 unique views but another video upload from the same episode...a video of Ray singing "Disorder Down on the Border"...that video upload's gotten more than 15,000 unique views. It's possible that both of those songs will be performed at the CabaRay this season. The ticket information can be found HERE

Have you all seen the official Ray Stevens bobblehead? The news of it's availability was released yesterday on Ray's social media pages. In the description of the collector's item it was said that only 30 of them are in existence. I never would've thought that a bobblehead would emerge depicting the likeness of Ray Stevens and yet there it is. It's being advertised as an item in limited quantity. In my mind I'm assuming that if they sell out that it might become an item at the CabaRay gift shop...but then again it'll probably only be available during this limited time offer so don't make assumptions that it may become available at a later date. You can read all about the Ray Stevens bobblehead when you click HERE. It would be a great gift for any Ray Stevens fan...and an item that will be among the most obscure/rare should only 30 exist and no more offered. If you look at the item it captures the current Ray Stevens...with microphone in hand and the handkerchief in the jacket pocket. In the back of my mind I was thinking if Ray might start up his television series again. This will be his first full season at the CabaRay since 2019. In 2020 there was only a couple of concerts and then in 2021 he put together a series of concerts in the last several months of the year. I wonder if Ray will be filming some of his concerts at the CabaRay and then have those edited half hours inserted into the current syndicated package of his television program. There's 78 episodes of Ray Stevens CabaRay Nashville. I've long been an online voice in suggesting more half hour episodes should be produced...perhaps 12 so it could round up the number of episodes to an even 90. Ray could hire an editing team, for example, and after enough concert footage is filmed at the CabaRay the footage could then be edited into 12 individual half hours. I say all of this because I don't know if Ray would go back and play the host/interviewer role again...in my idea the episodes would consist of CabaRay concert footage from Ray and feature no special guests. The title could change to Ray Stevens CabaRay Concerts. Well, I'm thinking out loud. Meanwhile, don't forget to click the link above to see information about the bobblehead and also don't forget to click the other link to purchase tickets to see Ray at the CabaRay this season.
