Hello to all the fans of Ray Stevens!! Several blog entries ago I mentioned that I'd be on the lookout for any sort of social media posts from those that attended the September 4th Ray Stevens concert at the CabaRay. The performance last night was Ray's first at the CabaRay since a brief re-opening in the fall of 2020. On Ray's social media, very early this morning after Midnight, several people who attended the re-opening of the CabaRay last night posted their reactions. A couple of hours ago another concert attendee also shared their experience. When you visit Ray's Facebook page look for the September 4th post that features the CabaRay marquee shown above. That's where the concert reactions are posted. I asked a few questions of those who attended the September 4th concert. I asked if Ray sang anything from Iconic Songs of the 20th Century...and I listed some of the songs from that 4-CD box set. I also asked if he sang his current novelty song, "Gas". As of this writing, which I began composing around 11:35am, I hadn't gotten a reply yet. I'm guessing those that attended the concert at the CabaRay are still asleep or they hadn't returned to their online devices yet. I'll inform you all in a future blog entry if I receive any replies or not. As you see on the CabaRay marquee there's a message about the Piano Bar. That advertisement most likely will change from the message stating the return of Ray Stevens to a more traditional message like Ray Stevens Live Every Saturday Night or Ray Stevens In Person Every Saturday Night. The Piano Bar, prior to September 4th, was open to the public on Friday and Saturday evenings beginning this past July. Now that the 2021 concert season is underway the Piano Bar will now be open at 5pm but only on the day of the concert...which is every Saturday evening. Prior to Ray returning to the CabaRay, the above marquee message states Friday 7pm for the Piano Bar but the advertisements, which included several YouTube videos uploaded in July, stated Friday and Saturday evenings at 7:30pm. Well, anyway, as mentioned the Piano Bar will now only be open on Saturday evenings at 5pm and then it'll re-open following each Ray Stevens concert. The reactions from those who attended last night's concert were all positive. Now I'm going to go over and refresh Ray's Facebook page and see if there's any new posts about last night's concert.
