Ray Stevens: Looking back on "Dear America"...

On September 6, 2016 Ray Stevens released a brand new song titled "Dear America". The song was released at a time when there was a sentiment going around that the general public was getting a bit complacent about 9/11 and the mood of the country was so divisive so days before the 15th anniversary remembrance of the 2001 terror attacks Ray issued what was advertised as a letter to the country, "Dear America". The song can be purchased as an Mp3...it's yet to make an appearance on one of his albums...or you can simply watch the music video whenever the mood strikes you. The video's default view is letterbox and so it may be a little disorienting if you're accustomed to viewing YouTube content in a box shape...

Ray released a behind-the-scenes video of the song (September 1, 2016) and he speaks of why he recorded the song and mentions the song's writer, Connie Jo Hamrick. The behind-the-scenes video clip isn't in letterbox format...
