Ray Stevens: CabaRay Saturday Night...

We find ourselves on a Saturday...and that means that Ray Stevens will be in concert at the CabaRay this evening! The month of October will feature the most concerts from Ray this calendar year...there are a total of five Saturdays this month and so there will be five Ray Stevens concerts this month! Each Saturday evening at 7:30pm Ray Stevens takes the stage...and for 90 minutes you'll be part of the Ray Stevens Universe. Actually, though, you're going to be inside the Ray Stevens Universe once you step foot inside the CabaRay!! The doors to the CabaRay open at 5pm for that is when the Piano Bar opens. John Jonethis is inside the Piano Bar and he plays the piano and sings until shortly before Ray takes the stage. Those who didn't purchase a dinner with the concert more than likely sit in the Piano Bar until the pianist wraps up his first set. Ray does his concert and then, afterward, the Piano Bar re-opens for the rest of the night. CabaRay concert tickets can be purchased by clicking HERE. There are a lot of concert goers who have posted on social media that Ray shows up inside the Piano Bar around half an hour following a concert. Ray either joins the pianist and sings the songs John Jonethis is performing or Ray poses for photos or signs autographs.

I don't make mention of that in every blog entry about the CabaRay that I've written because I don't know if it's something that happens every Saturday following a concert...and I don't want to promote something and get people's hopes up...only for it not to happen.

However, there have been plenty of people that have attended concerts months and years apart from one another say that Ray shown up in the Piano Bar following a concert. Ray, himself, has said that he sometimes shows up in the Piano Bar after a concert. So, if you're attending the concert tonight or one in the future, go to the Piano Bar following the concert and see if Ray makes an appearance there. Now, don't forget, that once you're inside the CabaRay there's a lot of art work and other visuals that you should notice. There's the checker design floor in the entrance and elsewhere. There's red carpet on the floors and steps and several paintings hanging on the walls. There's also a trophy case...the time I was at the CabaRay it was located upstairs right in front of the elevator. I think they moved it downstairs but then again it could be a separate trophy case downstairs.

There is also a gift shop...most of the things available in the gift shop are your normal trinkets like coasters, magnets, keychains, coffee mugs, and there's mouse pads for those who simply want a mouse pad as a souvenir...although many people who are online use laptops with a built-in mouse pad or they're on a phone. The mouse pads are in a quantity of four: there's a mouse pad promoting the CabaRay Nashville television series; another promotes "It's Me Again, Margaret"; there's a mouse pad with the photo of Ray from Comedy Video Classics; and lastly there's a mouse pad featuring the phrase 'Everything is Still Beautiful 1970-present' which ties into the 50th anniversary recording of "Everything is Beautiful" last year. There's also souvenir items that aren't your typical item...such as stuffed animals (squirrels, monkeys) and wine bottle openers. Ray has a line of CabaRay Wine stocked inside the Piano Bar. He uploaded a YouTube video promoting the wines and it's on this video where he says that he shows up in the Piano Bar after most concerts. In addition to the trinket type of souvenirs there's also an assortment of CD's, DVD's, T-shirts, hats, and copies of Ray's 2014 memoir, Ray Stevens' Nashville. The video below was uploaded in August 2018...but I still think everything said in the video is accurate for 2021, too...
